Jessica & Enrique's Fairytale Wedding in Fort Tryon Park

The juxtapositions of geography and buildings that New York City has are crazy! There are skyscrapers surrounding parks, pre-war buildings right next to modern buildings, and just above West 190th Street there is a Medieval looking park and museum that creates an atmosphere that is straight out of a Disney fairytale. This area is the Cloisters and Fort Tryon Park and it made for a perfect backdrop for Jessica & Enrique's wedding. Jessica and Enrique are a super sweet couple that live in Virginia and planned their whole wedding via phone calls and emails and by making the 4 hour drive to the city every weekend the past couple of months. All of their effort paid off as the wedding was beautiful and had a lot of great details. We met them at the Carlton hotel and they both left to the New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon park by way of retro checkered cabs! Once we got to the park we were so excited to shoot some portraits with the giant trees and panoramic views we saw! During the ceremony it rained almost the entire time but then the rain stopped immediately after! The sound of the rain on the tent during the readings and vows was a perfect soundtrack. Once the reception got going and the music started playing it was obvious that these people love to party! Everyone from the young children to the grandparents were on the dance floor sweating to the great jams. We had a great time!

    Hey Cuz,
What a beautiful Wedding Day you both had. May the lords blessing be a guidance in both your lives. May you continue learning and loving each other, as a couple. You looked beautiful, and your husband handsome too. Love the place you both picked, you should be in a Bridal Magazine. Enjoy your Honeymoon, but most of all enjoy both your lives together, in learning, respecting and communicating with each other. To me those are important keys to a lasting marriage. God Bless you Both.

    your cousin, Edgar Barbot Jr.

Hi, this question is for the bride:

I'm wearing the same Ivy and Aster dress for my wedding next month and was wondering what you wore as an undergarment with the dress as well as how you made the top of the dress stay taunt--mine seems to want to sag a little right under where the twist is at the top...any suggestions would be so appreciated! Thank you and Congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL wedding!:)

    Hi Jill,

Sorry I just saw your message now.  I wore spanks (of course) and my local seamstress sewed in cups (no bra) for a little extra "help."  I did find that the top was sagging a bit, which showed the very top of the sewn in cup, so my wonderful DOC used fashion tape to keep it steady and out of sight.  Hope that helps, and congratulations on your impending nuptials!!!

Hi Gabrielle--thanks!  I picked them up at Macy's, and they're by Enzo Angiolini.  They were shockingly comfortable.  Danced all night in them; even lasted through to the after party.

      Hi!

I have a question for the bride, Jess!  My best friend is getting married in October and she saw your website and loved the flowers of your bouquet but can't tell what they are, would you be able to help us?  The pictures are stunning and your wedding looked amazing!  We thank you for your help!  Best wishes to you!

      Thanks again!
      Danielle

Hi Danielle,  I'm so sorry if it's too late for a response, I'm just seeing your question now.  My bouquet was made of Astilbe in pale pink.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astilbe

Thanks for the well wishes!  I hope your best friend's wedding was/is wonderful!

      Best,
      Jessica

I also have a question for the bride - How did you bustle your dress? I *just* bought the sweetpea (such a gorgeous gown!) but I have no idea how to bustle it. Yours looks amazing!
    Many thanks!
